Why I’m Leaving Flexport for Amazon AWD (and You Might Want to Too)
Flexport is a 3PL warehouse that I used for a year. After analyzing my costs there are 3 main reasons why I'm moving out of it.

I’ve been using Flexport to store inventory for my Amazon private label business for a year. But now? I’m out.
Here’s why—especially reason #3, which was an expensive surprise! 😬
1️⃣ A New $500/Month Minimum Fee
Starting in July 2025, Flexport will charge at least $500/month for storage. If your bill is already over that, you’re fine. But if you’re like me and paying around $250/month, that’s a 2X price increase overnight.
They did send an email… but the fee change was hidden in the fine print. 👀
Want to check your cost? Head to Flexport > Reports and see if you’ll be hit by this new fee.
If you’re over $500/month already, you’re safe from this one. But the next two reasons still make a strong case for moving out.

2️⃣ Amazon AWD is Just… Better 🤷♂️
Flexport had a nice auto-replenish feature that sent inventory to Amazon FBA when stock ran low.
But now? Amazon AWD does this automatically. No extra setup, no extra headache. And the storage costs? About the same as Flexport (for now).
So why stick with a middleman when Amazon does it directly?

3️⃣ The $1,200 Mistake That Took Me a Year to Find 😨
This one hurt.
Flexport charges per pallet. But they don’t consolidate pallets. At all.
That means you might be paying for 5 pallets when all your inventory could easily fit on one.
That’s exactly what happened to me. Here’s how I found out:
- I went to Flexport > Inventory Reports >
- Downloaded my inventory data
- Checked the pallet IDs
- Saw that one SKU had 5 pallets… but only 267 units in total
- And guess what? My product is tiny. 267 units can easily fits on one pallet.

So instead of $25/month, I was paying $125/month. Every. Single. Month.
Total wasted money? $1,200. 🤯

Time to Move On?
If you’re using Flexport, I’d recommend checking your storage setup ASAP. Amazon AWD has caught up, and with these pricing issues, it might be time to make the switch.
